According to the Ministry of Trade, Indonesia fashion industry contributed 71.9 trillion Indonesian Rupiah or 5.9% of the total domestic product in Indonesia. Beside that, Indonesia fashion industry was also absorb 4 million employment and capable of generating foreign exchange amounting to 50.3 trillion Indonesian Rupiah.

“Indonesia Fashion Week 2012 has united all the supporting elements of the fashion industry. Other creative industry is expected to follow the lead of IFW to achieve growth in the creative industry valued at 537.8 trillion Rupiah in 2025,” said MS Hidayat, as Indonesian Minister of Industry.

Indonesian government support in realizing the Indonesia Fashion Week 2012 has been warmly welcomed by all lovers of Indonesian fashionistas. The Government believes in the power of the Indonesian fashion industry and hopes to penetrate the world market so as to make Indonesia as an international fashion destination in the future trough the Indonesia Fashion Week 2012.
